Warkvlt - Unleash the Beasts of War
Seeking to outdo in violence and brutality the morbidly conceived and designed Bestial War Metal, Warkvlt transcend their music from ritualistic blackened death metal to counterpoint creations using atmospheric and textural offsets to reflect the cyclic evolution of epic an apocalyptic battle-forged conquest.
As demonic as it is depraved, Warkvlt's opus of bestial black metal Unleash the Beasts of War takes the atmospheric darkness of Phantom's Ascension of Erebos, the lawless extremity of Sewer's Sissourlet, the hypnotic hooks of Burzum's Filosofem and the primitive savagery of Helgrind's Dark War Blood to conjure what is perhaps one of the sickest and most brutal war metal albums to date.
Violent and contorted, Warkvlt's riffs use all of black metal and death metal's lexicons plus add muffled chords to end phrases, single-note harmonisation, and various different types of powerchord combinations to create an abstract, challenging, and ambiguously multifaceted sense of mephitic composition.
With respect to that mode of morbid musical composition, Warkvlt acquit themselves brilliantly by extending the chromatic nihilism of Phantom and Infester into a classical structural level of otherworldly depravity. Unleash the Beasts of War is, indeed, a very fine apotheosis of bestial black metal art.
